Is Get The Game On a free Spond / Pitchero alternative?
The app is free for clubs and players. You only pay card processing of 2.49% + 20p when you collect money. We're an alternative if you want one app plus sport tools — not a clone of either product.
Can I belong to more than one club?
Yes — including multiple clubs for the same sport. Clubs are sport-specific (rugby, football or cricket). Switch your active club from Profile; Club home and Schedule show one club at a time.
Can I switch mid-season?
Yes for most clubs: recreate teams, invite members, and move fixtures across. The hard part is change management, not software lock-in. Start with one team if you want a soft landing.
Do you replace a club website?
We offer opt-in public club pages at /clubs/ for fixtures, results, stats and live rugby and football scores — not a full website, news CMS or shop. Keep Pitchero or another site if that web presence is the product, and link it from club settings.
Is Rugby Moves or Fantasy League locked behind a paywall?
No. Both are included. Fantasy is cricket-only; Moves is rugby-only. Live scoring for rugby and football is also included.
Do you have live scoring?
Yes for rugby and football: managers score during the match, club members see LIVE scores, and members of that team’s section get push alerts for tries, goals and more. Cricket still uses post-match Stats & results. Public club pages can show the same LIVE score.
How is this different from “just using WhatsApp + a spreadsheet”?
Availability, selection, team sheets, fixture-linked payments, stats and Find live in one place — so you’re not reconciling three chats and a treasurer spreadsheet every Thursday.
Is Get The Game On free compared to Spond?
Our app is free; you only pay card processing of 2.49% + 20p when collecting money. Check Spond’s current plan limits for your group size.
Can Spond users migrate?
Yes — invite the squad, rebuild the schedule, and move payments over when ready. Many clubs trial one team first.
Do you replace Pitchero’s website?
Not as a full CMS. Get The Game On has opt-in public club pages (fixtures, results, live rugby scores) at /clubs/. Pitchero still fits better if news, sponsors and a shop need a traditional club website. You can keep that site and run ops in our app.
We’re on Pitchero for results — can we still switch ops?
Some clubs keep a public site and run availability, selection and payments in Get The Game On. Choose based on where your pain is.
Is migrating from TeamApp painful?
Expect to rebuild teams and fixtures and re-invite members. Feature win is real; admin time is the cost. Trial with one squad if unsure.
Do you support the same sports?
We’re focused on rugby, football and cricket with sport-specific profiles and tools.
Is Get The Game On free?
Yes. Free to download and use. Card processing of 2.49% + 20p applies when your club collects money.
Is there a monthly club fee?
No subscription for having the app. Processing only when you collect.
Do players pay Get The Game On extra?
Players pay the club (match fee, membership). Processing is on that collection.
Where do I confirm the rate?
Confirm the current processing rate in-app when you set up Stripe. This page matches the public rate we market: 2.49% + 20p.
