Rugby moves app for clubs: how to build, animate and coach patterns faster
11 May 2026
Grassroots rugby coaches do not need a whiteboard photo nobody opens again. In Get The Game On, Rugby Moves lets you build a Switch, Loop or Miss in seconds, watch it play back, and send players the exact shape for Thursday — free, rugby only, and not AI.
Where Moves lives
Open Club home → Moves. You get a library (My Moves / All Moves), favourites and optional squad tags. Save a move private, share it with the club, or list it in the community library. Only the author can edit or delete.
There is no premium gate. If your club already uses the app for fixtures, Moves is sitting next to that — not a second coaching subscription.
Move Builder: rugby language, not drawing arrows
Move Builder is a stepped coach tool. Open a move → Edit → tap the phase title → Move Builder. You already know who has the ball. Then pick the action: Run, Switch, Loop, Pass, Miss or Crash; tap who they work with; optionally add Also run (for example 15 runs while 9 loops 10); save the step; stack the next with THEN; Apply.
Live preview loops on a zoomable pitch while you build. Timing runs at a steady player speed so it looks like rugby, not a sprint demo. Manual motion is still there if you need one weird decoy after Apply.
Start from real shapes
Hit + and pick a template instead of a blank grid: Standard backs, Lineout 5, Lineout 7, Touch, or blank. Pinch and pan the pitch so wings live where wings actually stand. Defence can be static, active chase, or fully manual if you want to show the gap.
Playback and Focus player
Press play and watch the clip. Dial speed for slow-mo coaching. Focus a jersey and the pitch clears to that player’s path only — so a 13 or a wing can see their job without every other line fighting for attention.
That is the difference between “I’ll sketch it later” and “we’ll run that on Thursday.”
A 30-second backs example
Standard backs → Move Builder → Pass 9 to 10, THEN Switch 10 with 12, THEN Miss to 13 → Apply → Save → play. Add Manual defence if you want to show where the hole opens. Tag the move to the 1sts and favourite it for the next session.
